Organize your wardrobe in an easy way

Is your closet a mess? Do you have problems finding an outfit? Do you even know what you have in your closet? Do you wish it was more organized, so you could easier find an outfit? Well, I know I do. I know I have tons of clothes and accessories, but I do not have an overview of everything in my closet, and I wish I had. After googling a bit, I found a solution to my problem: digital closet organizer.

Basically a digital closet organizer organizes your clothes and accessories into categories and color coordinates it, so you have control of everything in your wardrobe. This is a cheaper way to organize your closet, if you cannot afford buying a bigger closet.

I found this digital closet organizer app in Mac App Store, called Dress Assistant. It was easy to download it, and I started with my jewelries. I took pictures with my phone of all my jewelries, transferred them to my Mac, and dragged the items over to the program into the respective category. Once I did this with all my pictures, I labelled each item with color, description and size. Then I sorted them after color. This organization will take a while, but I personally think this is worth it. I have to admit, this is the first time I have an overview of all my stuff, and what type and color jewelry I have too much of, and what I am missing or have less of.

The Dress Assistant also allows you to put together outfits for events (it even has an event planner), you can edit color and light on each picture, and sort clothes depending on the weather. Nevertheless, you can make several wardrobes, for instance for your mum, your sister or your boyfriend. Even though it does not have all the categories you personally prefer, you can create, add and drop categories you don't need.

Below you can see a screenshot I took of my Dress Assistant, where I have started to sort my jewelry.

You can download the app from Mac App Store, and search for "Dress Assistant". The price is $19.99 or NOK 140. A bit expensive, but to me it is worth it if it makes my life easier, and my closet more organized.

The only thing missing in this app, is that I wish it had subcategories, and that it would be an easier way to sync between iPad, iPhone and Mac.

So far I am happy with this product, and I hope to have taken pictures and organized all my stuff before I go back to Hawaii, so I don't buy more stuff I don't need in the future. There is even an iPhone app which you can download, and it is much cheaper than the Mac version. I think there are several wardrobe organizers online, but this is the only one I've tried. You should read upon each wardrobe organizer before you buy it, so you know it suits your preferences. Happy organizing!

How to instantly refresh your skin around the eyes

Do you have dark circles under your eyes or puffy eyes? Does the skin on the corner of your eyes starting to feel wrinkly? Do you have dry skin around the eyes?

Well, here is an instant-helping product against all these problems - the eye roll-on. (Remember that they are supposed to be of instant and current on-the-go-help, not necessarily a problem-solver in the long run. If you are looking for something longer-lasting you need eye creams/ other products and other alternatives.)

I have the one from Sephora's own brand called Instant De-puffing Roll-on Gel. It instantly makes your eyes feel fresh and moist. This is a on-the-go product that you can use whenever you feel dry or not so fresh. I recommend that you use an eye cream or moisturizer first before you apply this. Have this in your hand bag, and touch up whenever you need it. It is pretty fast and easy to use, and gives you a cool and nice feeling after applying. This product is perfect when the weather is hot or the air feels dry. It is also supposed to make your skin feel brighter when you apply it on. The price is pretty cheap compared to many other eye roll-on gels.

From Sephora's own brand - $15. Image: Sephora.

There are many other similar products on the market. I have not tried the products below yet, but here are some suggestions.

I found this eye roll-on from Garnier called Anti-dark Circle Eye Roll-on, that is supposed to be against dark circles. It is hydrating and full of caffeine and lemon essence (lemon has brighting elements in it). This roll-on is tinted, which gives you some more color than the other invisible eye-roll ons. This might be better for those of you who have dark circles. It comes in two shades; light and medium. It is allergy tested and non-greasy. This is something I might want to try out when I finish the one I have from Sephora, especially when the price is very fair.

(I am pretty sure you can find this at regular drugstores in Hawaii and the rest of the US.

Another product is from YSL called Top Secrets Eye Roll-on Pen. It is supposed to be quickly absorbing, give you radiance, be effective against tired-looking eyes and make your skin around the eyes look fresh and moist. This pen has a exclusive and classy look than the others mentioned, so this might suit for people who like quality of the package. Unfortunately, the price is rather high.
$44 at Nordstrom. Image: Nordstrom.

Last, but not least, as Ole Henriksen is one of my favorite brands, I wanted to suggest this eye roll-on called Ultimate Lift Eye Gel Roll-on (which I would love to try). It is supposed to fit all skin types, and comes in a .5 oz/ 15 ml tube. According to the Ole Henriksen's webpage, it is supposed to give you instant eye lift, as the name indicates. Furthermore, it has a cooling feeling when you apply it on, and should reduce puffiness and fine lines. It contains peptides (that should boost production of collagen and elastin to make your skin firm), arginine (works against wrinkles) and cucumber. The price is okay, but it is not the cheapest of the suggested products.

Enlighten Me Skin Tone Corrector

I just bought the serum from Ole Henriksen I told you guys about before (here) that I wanted to try out. It is called the Enlighten Me Skin Tone Corrector. According to the Ole Henriksen homepage, it is suitable for all skin types. The texture of the serum feels a bit greasy once you pump it out, but when you massage it into your skin, it absorbs quickly and does not feel sticky at all. It is a serum that is supposed to lighten the skin with THC, lactic acid, lemon and mulberry extracts. It is recommended to use this at night before your moisturizer on clean skin. I use it every night, and even sometimes in the morning also for extra effect.

Since I have scars after acne and uneven skin tone, I thought I will try this out. I have used this for like a week or two, and already I see some improvement. Small, but visible improvement. I am thinking if I  keep this up, my skin will look a lot better within 4 weeks or so. I will update you guys about this after 4 weeks, and tell you if it really worked on me. What I also noticed is that my skin definitely got smoother and more even than before. My skin does not feel as "bumpy" as before. And nevertheless, it smells like lemon (from the lemon extract, I assume)! The only downside to this product is the price! It is kind of expensive, but you just need a small amount, so this will probably last you a couple of months. So far, I'm happy with this product.
The serum costs USD $ 48.

Pink Diva

I have a thing for pink right now. Pink nail polish, pink lipgloss, pink sprinkles on your ice cream, you name it!

Pink is a very flattering color on a sunny day in the summer. Especially on tan skin. I got this cute pink nail polish from Copenhagen, when I visited Mango there earlier this summer. It is an unknown brand, so I'm not sure if you can get it anywhere but in that store. However I am sure you can get something similar in stores or online. I fell in love with this shade of pink right away. As a icing on the cake, I found a matching lipgloss from Calvin Klein.

Look, it even matches the ice cream sprinkles!
